LaVonne Arlene Shipe was born April 8, 1930. She graduated from Rose Creek High, Minnesota, and from Kaehler School of Nursing. She worked at various hospitals in her nursing career in Sault Ste. Marie, Winona, Minnesota, and St John, South Macomb, Michigan and Mt. Clemens General Hospitals in Michigan, and as a public health nurse in Detroit, Michigan. She especially loved working with children and babies. She was an accomplished artist in oil painting and pencil sketching.

LaVonne died at age 77 on March 20, 2008 of Parkinson's Disease.

She was the beloved wife for 56 years of John L. (Jack) Drugan and dearest mother of Denise, Sally (Carl) Erickson, John, Ronald (Bonnie), Theodore (Suzanne) , and Rhonda (Bob) Binder. Loving Grandmother of Jessica (Jeff) Gunnels, David , Juliette Mandrella, Jennifer Bauer , Brooke, Robert, Jacqueline, Sean, and step grandson Joey. Proud and Loving Great Grandmother of Zoeie, Leah, Sammy, and Madeline. Dear Sister of Carol Volstad, and Richard (Jean) Shipe. LaVonne is survived by one Aunt, 104 year old Alice Andre. and cousins Norma Christeleit, Dorothy Seybert, and Darlene Wilkers. Also survived by 14 nieces and 12 nephews.

LaVonne was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
