William married Nancy Fast, daughter of Philip D. Fast and Mary Ann Ridenour, about 1867. (Nancy Fast was born on 30 October 1849 in , Stark County, IL,^{2 3 4 5} died on 28 October 1877 in Burlington Junction, Nodaway County, MO ^{2 5} and was buried after 28 October 1877 in Burlington Junction, Nodaway County, MO ⁵.)

  Marriage Notes:

Not found in the 1880 US Census. However, the 1880 US Census record for her brother, Enos Fast, shows a Jennie Vulgamott who was probably the daughter of Nancy Fast, the sister to Enos (not Nancy the wife of Enos Fast). Why Nancy's daughter was living with her uncle Enos is unknown but neither her mother, Nancy Fast, nor her father, William Vulgamott are found in the 1880 census. It is highly possible that they both had died. There were other Vulgamott families living in Nodaway County, Missouri.
