Mrs. Esther Robinson, 82, of Pleasant Hill, died Friday night in the Illini Community hospital in Pittsfield, Friday night, May 5. She had been a patient since suffering a heart attack two months ago.

Mrs. Robinson was born at Pleasant Hill, August 11, 1879, a daughter of William and Lucinda Carver DeCamp. Mrs. Robinson was a member of one of the pioneer families of Pleasant Hill township. Her grandfather, Ephithalet DeCamp was a merchant in Bayville settlement, one and one-half miles southeast of Pleasant Hill when Bayville was the trading center of the community before days of railroads and truck lines.

She was a member of the Christian church.

She was married to Alonzo Robinson in May 18, 1898 at Pittsfield. She had lived her whole life in Pleasant Hill community.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Blanche Booth of Lampasas, Tex., Mrs. Hallie Tilly of Louisiana, Mo., Mrs. Doris Pearson and Mrs. Bee Guthrie, both of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Ruby Voshall and Mrs. Mamie Heavner, both of Pittsfield; six sons, Orville of Ontario, Ore., Leslie of Joliet, Max of Pittsfield, and Clyde, Norman and Russell, all of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Mrs. Tata Thomas of Hannibal, Mo., and 21 grandchildren.

A son, Truman, preceded her in death in 1961.

Funeral services were held in the Christian church Monday afternoon at 2: PM with Rev. Robert Gulledge officiating, assisted by Rev. Elmer Carter.

Burial was in Crescent Heights cemetery.
