9 BARNEY MCGRAW, OLD TREMPEALEAU PIONEER, DEAD AT AGE OF 88

Trempealeau - (Special) - Another of Trempealeau's old settlers died Friday morning after suffering for a number of years from cancer. He is Barney McGraw. Mr. McGraw was born in New York City January 4, 1840, and while still a boy migrated west stopping at St. Louis, Mo., where he worked on government river boats until 1866 when he got the ambition to go north and came as far as Trempealeau where he settled and ever since has made his home. In 1873 he was married to Mrs. Margaret O'Keeffe who preceded him in death some twelve years ago. Since the death of his wife he has made his home with Mrs. Mary Ann Keeffe.

The funeral will be at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of which he has been a life long member. The Rev. McDonnell will preach the sermon. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
