¹ Ellen Cowan Pratt of Apache Junction and formerly of Trempealeau and La Crosse, Wis., died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Arizona.

She was born April 16, 1939, to Lloyd and Margaret (Shrake) Cowan in Trempealeau. On April 18, 1960, she married Maynard Pratt in Trempealeau.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and was a loyal friend.

She is survived by her two sons, John Pratt and Richard (Sue) Pratt; granddaughter, Chelsea; and grandson, Kyle. Also surviving are sisters, Peggy Wing of La Crosse, Catherine Knopf of Milpitas, Calif.; Vivian (Mort) Simerson of Peoria, Ill.; and Teresa (Steve) McAllister of Le Saucier, Miss.; brother, Charles (Tina) Cowan of Peoria; and nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maynard Pratt ; sister, Virginia Stanislawski; brother, John Cowan; and brothers-in-l aw, Richard Wing and Peter Stanislawski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, both in Trempealeau. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
