• Her obituary was published in December 2011. Nora K. Olson was born in Norway on June 17, 1914. She was the daughter of Tobias and Kate (Knudtson) Olson. Nora attended school in Litchville and graduated as Valedictorian of her class.
She was united in marriage to Wayne Drugan and together they raised four children. Nora was active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was also active in the Valley City community. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She married Norman Marcks on March 19, 1977. They continued to live in Valley City. He died in October 1990. Nora continued to be active in PEO and Valley City Country Club. She made her home at the Legacy Place for the past two years.
Nora is survived by her children; Manferd (Jan) Drugan, Valley City, and their children, Dan (Peggy) Drugan, Sheila (Mike) Maldonado, and Barbara (Jim) Laschkewitsch; Patricia (William) Robbins, Cavalier, ND and their children, Nora (Michael) Miller and Jason (Olga) Hardy; Sharon (Dale) Miller, Brooklyn Park, MN, and their children Kathy (Randy) Johnson and Kim (Jason) Schlief; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley (Rae) Olson, Jacksonville, OR and Donald (Pat) Olson, Anaheim, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Wayne and Norman, a son, Wayne "Rusty" Drugan, 2 great granddaughters, three brothers and six sisters.

The funeral service for Nora K. Marcks, 97, Valley City, ND, will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Valley City. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City. She died at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on December 14, 2011.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.
