Mrs. Charles Schult, deceased whose maiden name was Rachel S. Wallace was born in the township of Caledonia, WI on June 17, 1863, and departed this life February 13, from her home in Caledonia. She grew to womanhood on a farm in Caledonia. She was united in marriage to Charles Schult, December 23, 1879. The first two years of her married life were spent in Mondvile. About forty-six years ago they moved to Caledonia, where they have resided since. They were located in their present home for the last forty years. To this union were born fifteen children. George Wallace and George and one daughter, Mrs. Thurber, preceded their mother in death. The other children are Mrs. J. J. Feely of Rathdrum, Idaho; Mrs. Robert James of Detroit, MI; Mrs. John Wolf of Sparta, WI; Mrs. Herman Manthey of Portage, WI; Mrs. Frank Dougherty of Dalton; Mrs. Melvin Cuff of Dalton; Lynn Schult of Baraboo; Mrs. William Koch of Portage; Dewey Schult of Caledonia; Mrs. Gifford Cook of Pardeeville; Mrs. Cecil Cuff of Marcellon and Miss Charlotte Schult of Portage. She is also survived by one brother, William Wallace of Poynette, and four sisters who are Mrs. Anna Barden of Pardeeville; Mrs. Mary Pruyn of Baraboo; Mrs. Maria Way of Madison; and Maggie Wolf of North Dakota. Thirty-two grandchildren, one great-grandson, and other relatives and a host of friends live to mourn her passing. Mrs. Schult was blessed by a cheerful and hopeful disposition. This proved a great asset to her throughout her life. She had the faculty of making the best of every situation and was never too busy to speak a cheering word and give a smile to those about her. Her passing will leave a vacant place in the home and in the community. Her motherly spirit and her friendliness to everyone will be greatly missed. ![]() • She was buried after 13 February 1928 in the Welsh Church Cemetery in Portage, WI. ![]() Rachel married Charles William Schult, son of Friedrich G.
