NOTE - Retta Roby apparently was remarried to a Mr. Hood following the death of her 1st husband, Frank Howser. In spite of that remarriage, she was apparently widowed again according to this census.

(Retta was widowed and living with her daughter, Ruby, and her widowed mother, Mary Roby.)

Retta married Frank Walter Howser, son of William J. Howser and Laura P. Eddy, about 1882. (Frank Walter Howser was born on 27 March 1864 in , Logan County, IL,1 2 4 5 died on 28 May 1908 and was buried on 31 May 1908 in Clinton, IL.)


bullet  Marriage Notes:


The 1900 Census for his wife showed that she was remarried and that her 2nd husband had died. Frank and Retta must have divorced because he supposedly was remarried to Mamie Battles but the dates of that marriage remain unknown.
