Adopted by the Lawsons. Birth parents name JACOBSEN.
He lived in Santee, Nebraska as a boy with his adoptive parents. Santee was in the Santee Indian Reservation. Charles Lawson was a Presbyterian minister and a missionary. Reginald worked in the print shop at the mission. His mother, Lura, would come into his room in the middle of the night and beat him. His father finally moved him out into the barn. He was in his late teens when the family moved to Iowa City. That is where he met Dorothea Seydel.
