The death certificate indicates a burial at "Mountain View Cemetery" on 15 Jul 1946 but does not provide a specific location or address of the cemetery. It does give the name and address of the funeral home. There is a Mountain View Cemetery located in modern day Altadena, Los Angeles County, California but their online database shows no records for a Kate or Catherine Moon or any records using her maiden name of Posey. Strangely the certificate was signed and dated by the physician and registrar 3 days before the supposed date of burial which means the actual burial location may have changed.

This 1940 census may not be the correct family. Although his name of "W. D.", his wife's name of Kate, his son's name of Frank, and their current location of Bibb County, Alabama all seem correct, the Last Place of Residence seems to be out of place for this family and they were never known to live in or near Richmond, VA. Equally strange is that the census form has "(ab)" entered next to William's name which I assume means "absent". See the other 1940 census which shows William as widowed and living with his married daughter.

There is a 1940 US Census record for a William D. Moon in Nelson County, Virginia showing that he was widowed and living with his married daughter named Edna who was born in Virginia. Although his age is approximately correct as well as his birth location, this is probably the wrong family because all of William's children were born in Alabama. The daughter named Edna on this census record was much older than any other of William's children. Besides there is another 1940 US Census in Alabama showing the correct William Moon still living with his wife who was alive and well.
