In the Biographical section of the History of Cumberland and Adams Counties (Adams County cut from York in 1800) and under the section entitled "Borough of Mechanicsburg", page 435, John Sibbett of that town born in Chester County in 1792 later coming to eastern Cumberland County married Mary Lightfoot born in Maryland who came with her parents to Cumberland County in or about 1807.

John married Annie Lightfoot, daughter of Daniel Lightfoot and Caterina Salome Schmidt, about 1819 in York County, PA.2 (Annie Lightfoot was born in 1802 in Pennsylvania 2 and died on 4 February 1857 in Mechanicsburg, PA 2.)
