A. married Mary Ann McIntosh, daughter of Elijah Benjamin McIntosh and Rebecca Sayre, about 1852.¹ (Mary Ann McIntosh was born on 9 August 1832 in Pleasant Creek, VA ^{1 2 3} and died on 27 November 1870 ^{1 3}.)

  Marriage Notes:

The following 1880 census record seems most assuredly to be for the correct husband A. J. Roach but with a new wife named Nancy. But if his first wife, Mary McIntosh, did not die until 1870, then all of the children listed on this census could be hers. And it appears that they were two sets of twins.
