William H. Snook, 78, of 1136 W. North Street died at 3:30 am Friday, Aug 16, 1996, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Born Oct 7, 1917, in Prairie City to William E. and Eva Bryte Snook, He married Helen L. Coughlin on Dec 31, 1938, in Burlington, IA. She died Jul 25, 1987. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Leo (Aileen) Buck of Saint Louis; and a friend, Louise Burgoyne, with whom he made his home; and nieces and nephews. He was a tool and die maker at Gale Products in Galesburg. He also taught at a California Community College. He served in the National Guard. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Services will be at 10:00am Monday, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Dr. Kermit W. Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Memorials made be made to any charity.
