Dear ones all I am still here with little ct of getting away soon I have suffered much all the time for seven weeks I was Unknown? again to find something else but they found nothing but the ulcer was healing all right the doctor cannot account for the suffering early this morning this was a change the morning pain started and left me very sore i hope the change is for the best I take two Unknown a day to get and rest all are so kind to me Clarence Alma & Iris came up Sunday I cannot write much just wrote Pearl and Alfred Hope to hear from you or see any of you soon I forget your number but guess this will reach to Warner and Leealso I am to tired to write more

In Laveen, AZ., May 18, 1949, John Howard Stahl; beloved husband of the late Emma I. Stahl; loving father of Clarence B. Stahl of Sebastopol, Owen Stahl of Waterford, California, Ira F. Stahl of Laveen, AZ., and Mrs. Mabel Shaw of Santa Monica. Also survived by 11 grand children and 11 great-grandchildren. A native of Iowa, aged 83 years. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services Friday, May 20 at 2 PM at the chapel of the O'Leary Funeral Home in Sebastopol. Interment Sebastopol Cemetery.

John married Emma Ida Darner, daughter of Phillip John Darner and Mary Mahetable Sweezey, on 26 December 1888 in Polk City, IA.1 (Emma Ida Darner was born on 30 March 1870 in Marengo, IA,1 2 died on 11 June 1948 in Santa Rosa, CA 1 and was buried on 14 June 1948 in Sebastopol, CA 1.). The cause of her death was cerebral arteriosclerosis.
