Lewis was married 3 times. His gravestone lists two wives, Mary Ann (Stoneburner) 1831-1853 and Mary (Swartz) 1832-1874 but the 1880 Census shows the name of his 3rd wife, Rachel who was previously married to a Huston. Her maiden name is not known. He must have been a widower for a third time because the 1900 Census shows him listed as widowed once again and living with his married son, David.
