Opal Hardman, 88, of Smithville died Aug. 18, 2004, in Parkersburg.

She was born July 26, 1916, in Smithville, the daughter of the late Carl F. and Opal Nutter Barker.

She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother devoting her entire life to her family. She will sadly be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, James and Esther Miller of Lubeck and Steve and Lou Hardman, David and Phyllis Hardman and Greg Hardman, all of Smithville; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jack Blair of Parkersburg; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three brothers, William A. Barker and Frederick Barker, both of Parkersburg, and James Barker of Bradenton, Florida; and two sisters, Fanny Lou Wilson and Mary Craig both of Parkersburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Cleo Miller, second husband Creed Hardman and a baby sister, Ruth.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Jim Eakle officiating. Interment will follow in the Ayers Cemetery, Smithville. Friends may call from 4:30-8 PM today and 10 AM-1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
