Thomas Avery Wood, Jr., 68, of Sand Ridge, died Tuesday, Apr. 13, 2004, in Roane General Hospital.
He was the son of the late Thomas Avery and Viola Umstead Wood. He was a former employee of WV Dept. of Highways, Weston State Hospital and Jackson 's Mill 4-H Grounds, Weston. He was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra Mosely of Yuma, Arizona., and Romona Morris of Athens, Ala.; one son, Thomas Avery Wood III of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Thelma Wire of Grantsville; one brother, O'Dell Wood of Stumptown; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; one half-sister, Belva Umstead Carpenter; one sister, Maggie Burrows; and four brothers, Guy Wood, Warren George Wood, Denver James Wood and Romeo (Jake) Wood.
Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. David Morris officiating. Burial will be in Collins-Community Cemetery, Stumptown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
