Mollie Catherine Wood, 79 of Shock, West Virginia, died at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, Friday, October 8, 2004 after a short illness.

She was born in Calhoun, a daughter of the late David Henry and Nellie Mae Mace Shaffer. She was a housewife, a member of Albert's Chapel United Methodist Church at Sand Ridge. She was also a Home Care Provider.

She is survived by three sons, Darrel and Gerald both of Shock and Harry of Sand Ridge; a daughter, Charlotte of Sutton; sister, Myrtle Hickman of Logan, Ohio; brother, Harold Shaffer of Stumptown; five grandsons and one granddaughter; three great grandsons and six great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Wood in 1978.

Grave side rites will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Collins Community Cemetery, Stumptown. Evangelist Vernon Kerns will officiate.

Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg is in charge of arrangements.
