Everett Gainer,Jr., 82, of Joker, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at his home.

He was born in Calhoun, the son of the late Everett and Ella F. Garrets on Gainer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Rubber Fabricators, Grantsville, and was a farmer and a Methodist.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Salmons of Weirton; one sister, Elean or Barnes of Grantsville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie M. Gainer, in 1989; three brothers, Vernon, Artie and Lora Gainer; and two sisters, Scottie Dawson and Audrey Garretson.

Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Roger McKee officiating. Burial was in Saint Paul Cemetery, Mt. Zion.
