Greta Stump, 86, of Parkersburg died July 20, 2004, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center of Parkersburg.

She was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Grantsville, a daughter of the late Clyde and Goldie Bennett Hathaway.

She was a member of Baptist Gospel Temple and had attended the First Church of the Nazarene until moving to Sunbridge.

Greta is survived by one son, Garland Edward Stump of Perryton, Texas; three grandchildren, Marsha Stump and Michele Bennington, both of Parkersburg and Matthew Stump of Ellenboro; two sisters, Nada Newhouse and her husband, Sam, of Davisville and Evelyn Haught and her husband, Darrell, of Parkersburg; one brother, Troy Hathaway and his wife, Pearl, of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Greta was preceded in death by her husband, Deward Stump in 1966; one sister, Vera Allen; and two brothers, Lennis and Leonard "Bud" Hathaway.

Services will be 1 PM Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. H. Earle Arthur officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM today and prior to the service on Thursday.

She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late Clyde and Goldie Bennett Hathaway.
