Edward G. Fowler, 79, of Grantsville, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 1995, at his residence after a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Russett, a son of the late Frank and Elfie Barr Fowler. He retired from West Virginia Dept. of Highways with 40 years of service, having worked as a surveyor and project engineer, and was formerly employed by Bob Yoak Ford for seven years. He was a member of Grantsville Eureka Lodge 40, AF&AM, Charleston Scottish Rite Bodies, Parkersburg Nemesis Shrine Temple, and Enon Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Margaret Connolly Fowler; four daughters, Janet Connolly of Jacksonville, Fla., Regina Ice of Orlando, Fla., Vicki Conway of Houston and Debbie Ball of Grantsville; three sons, Edward Fowler, Jr., of Houston, Danny Fowler of Rock Hill, SC, and Anthony Fowler of Grantsville; five sisters, Velma McEndree, Geraldine Wallace, Madalene Moore and Emogene Hoskins, all of Grantsville, and Oleva Gainer of Pittsburgh; and four brothers, Glen Fowler of Grantsville, Dale Fowler of Parkersburg, Victor Fowler of Huntington and Foster Fowler of Elyria, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Deward "Duke" Fowler, in 1993.

Services were scheduled Wednesday, 10:30 AM, at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Masonic rites.
