Roger Kent Stump, 66, of Evansville, Ind., died Saturday, Apr. 24, 200 4, at his home.
He was born in Grantsville, the son of Roy J. and Gertrude Robinson Stump. He graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and was a member of WVU Alumni Association. He was a chemical engineer/ project manager with GE Plastics, Mt. Vernon, Ind., and retired in 1994 after 35 years. He later worked in the same position for Lockwood Greene Engineering, Carmel, Ind., and Dynamic Engineering Design, Indianapolis, Ind. He retired from the Army Reserve with a rank of Lt. Col. and was a member of Saint Marks United Methodist Church, Carmel, and former member of First United Methodist Church, Mt. Vernon. He was a member of Eureka Masonic Lodge #40, Grantsville, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine, Indianapolis, General Thomas Posey Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge #277.

Surviving are his wife, Karen Kay Hughes Bauer Stump; one son, Scott W. Stump of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Karen Baker and Yulonda Schutz, both of Mt. Vernon; three step-daughters, KaLee Vogel of Mt. Vernon and Denyse Bauer and Debora Bottoms, both of Evansville; one sister, Judy Bonser of Parkersburg; one niece, Kelly Offenberger of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled Wednesday, 10 AM, at Austin Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon. Burial was in Bellefontaine Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, with military rites.
