Genevieve Ellen Poling Stump, 89, of Racine, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 1 8, 2005, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Calhoun, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Virginia Slider Poling. She retired as a cashier and dairy department supervisor at A&P Tea Co., Akron, Ohio, in 1973, and from A. J. Bayless Co., Apache Junction, Arizona., in 1977. She was a former member of Akron Baptist Temple and First Baptist Church, Sun Lake, Arizona., and attended Racine First Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood. She was a member and past steward of United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Akron, and a member of Eagle Creek Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are one son, Randall Stump of Racine; two daughters, Betty Cantrell of News Braunfels, Tex., and Sandra Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Hoy G. Stump, on Sept. 11, 1989; one grandson, Richard D. Stump; and five brothers, Allen Poling, Tom Poling, John Poling, Slaith Poling and Vernon Poling.
Services were held at Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine, with Rev. Richard Parsons officiating. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale, Arizona.
