Gladys Murdayne Gainer Bower, 88, of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born in Henrietta, a daughter of the late Oak and Esther Wagoner Gainer.

Surviving are two daughters, Delma Atkinson of Brunswick, Ohio, and Ernestine Blankenship of Grantsville; one son, Morris Bower of Parkersburg; two brothers, Frank Gainer of Grantsville and George Gainer of Bloomingdale, Ohio; one sister, Louise Rusnak of Bloomingdale; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas O. Bower; one brother, Harry Gainer; and three sisters, Uthol Gainer, Clair Smith and Dutch Barker.

Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery, near Grantsville.
