Robert N. Bland, 57, of Charleston, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at home.

A son of the late Charles Noell Bland and Pearl Maxwell Bland, he was originally from Saint Albans, and was a resident of Charleston for 32 years. He was a graduate of Duke University and West Virginia University College of Law. He was a senior law partner and founder of Bland and Bland attorney-at-law, Charleston, and member of Kanawha County Bar Association, WV Bar Association, WV Trial Lawyers Association, American Trial Association, and Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, Charleston. He was a former Kanawha County assistant prosecutor and charter member of Y's Men's Club, support group for YMCA, past president of YMCA and WV State Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis.

Surviving are his wife, Paula McCormick Bland; two daughters, Robin Jean Bland of Charleston and Heather Bland Parks of South Charleston; one son, Shannon Maxwell Bland of Charleston; one sister, Betti Bland Volkers of New Orleans and Charleston; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 AM, at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church with Rev. W. Frank Mansell, Jr., officiating, and burial in Cunningham Memorial Park, Saint Albans. Visitation was scheduled Tuesday, 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM, at Barlow-Bonall Funeral Home, Charleston.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Robert Bland Memorial Fund of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation.
