• Her obituary was published in the La Crosse Tribune on 6 February 1946 in La Crosse, WI.

The Rev. John Murphy will conduct funeral services at St. Bartholomew's church Thursday at 9 a.m. for Mrs. Frances Keeffe, who died Monday noon at her home. A funeral service for her mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ann Keeffe will be held at 11 a.m. Both will be buried in the Catholic cemetery.

Frances Joanna James, the daughter of E. C. and Kathryn James, was born on the old home farm in the town of Caledonia Oct. 23, 1887. She was married in 1912 to Howard Keeffe, who died in 1935.

She is survived by a son, James H., and a daughter Joan; one brother, Harry James; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Gibbs, Mrs. William Ryder and Mrs. John Thornton and three grandchildren all of Trempealeau.
