Stephen, along with a friend, built an igloo intending to spend the night out of doors. When the weather got cold, the friend returned to his home leaving Stephen alone. A small lantern tipped over and Stephen's clothes got fire. Stephen died from suffocation and burns. Stephen was a student at Rosemount Sr. High School.
