Ida Ator Died Saturday

Ida Lee Clark was born January 29, 1876 on a farm known as the Joseph Collard farm between Pleasant Hill and Nebo and died at her home in Pleasant Hill, June 22, 1963 at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 24 days. She was the daughter of the late Eliza Collard Clark and Henry Clark.

She lived her entire life in Illinois except a few years near Annada, MO when a small child. Her parents moved back to a farm near the Highland school house where she spent her entire school years.

She was married to Albert Ator on Nov. 11, 1894 who preceded her in death in 1939. To this union God blessed them with 7 children: Ray Ator, Eva Hillman, Alma Franklin, and Ruby Goodin, all of Pleasant Hill; Ina Lehman of Loraine, OH, and Smith Ator of Peoria. One daughter expired at the age of 2 years. A sister, Gussie Hartsock and a brother, Willie Clark preceded her in death a number of years ago.

She was a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church a number of years, later moving her membership to the Pleasant Hill Christian Church where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She was a good wife, mother, neighbor and friend, always willing to sacrifice for others. She loved her in-laws the same as she did her children.

She leaves to mourn her passing besides her children, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, 1 niece and 1 nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Christian Church in Pleasant Hill, Monday afternoon with Rev. Joe Maynard of Pittsfield officiating. Interment was in Crescent Heights Cemetery.
