John Woodrow "Jack" Crivits, 71, of Jerome, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1940, in La Crosse, Wis., the son of Woodrow T. Crivits and Myrtle Mae Owens Crivits. He was raised in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Jack served his country in the United States Army and was in the same platoon as Elvis Presley.
Following an honorable discharge, he returned home, where he married Bonita Mae Taylor and became the father of her six children. Jack and Bonita had five more children together and adopted one more. They loved spending time together camping, fishing and swimming. Jack spent most of his working life as a mechanic. He will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather and friend.
Jack is survived by 11 children; 37 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; his only brother, Paul; and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonita; and their son, Jamie.
A celebration of Jack's life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Farnsworth Mortuary Chapel, 1343 S. Lincoln in Jerome.
