  General Notes:

Some researchers are showing his birth year as 1867 while others are showing it as 1857.

The 1870 US Census shows Franklin as 14 years old living with his parents. This would suggest a birth year of 1856-1857.

The 1880 US Census provides an approximate birth year of about 1857.

However, on the 1900 US Census after he was married to his second wife, he gave a birth date of Feb 1867 making him 10 years younger.

His gravestone gives the year as 1857.

The real evidence is the fact that Franklin was listed with his parents on the 1860 US Census thus making a birth year of 1867 impossible.
