Lauretta F. Shafer died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Homer D. Ridenour, 221 Dill avenue, at 2.10 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon [4 Jan]. Her age was 78 years, 2 months, 13 days. She was born at the Keller homestead at Braddock Heights and was the widow of John Edward Shafer, and with the exception of the last 19 years, lived on the Jonathan Routzahn farm near Middletown.
She is survived by six sons and one daughter. T. C. [Theodore Calvin] Shafer, near Middletown; William R. Shafer, Hallandale, Florida; E. E. [Elmer Edward] Shafer, Middletown; M. [Milton] Stanley, Frederick; S. [Simon] Leslie, Middletown; and Mrs. Homer D. Ridenour [Anna Mary Elizabeth]. Nineteen grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the home of her son S. Leslie Shafer, Middletown. Burial Reformed cemetery, Middletown. M. R. Etchison and Son funeral directors.
