Esther P. Lightfoot, 93, of 234 Lurgan Ave, Shippensburg, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at her home.

Born November 6, 1916 in Oakville, PA, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Nellie E. Highlands Mowery.

Esther was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church and AARP #2525 both of Shippensburg, a 1933 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. She retired in 1981 from Marden Clothing as a seamstress after 45 years of service, she liked to travel, read and sew.

Surviving are three daughters; Sharon L. Davidson, Judy A. Dakin, both of Shippensburg and Nancy L. Vaughn, Bonita Springs, FL. one son; Thomas E. Lightfoot and his wife Linda, Arlington, VA, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leslie R. Lightfoot who died July 22, 1989, one son; Ray Lightfoot, three brothers; Lester, Lloyd and Calvin and three sisters; Elizabeth, Almeda and Helen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Kevin E. Hughes and Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 South Penn Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257
.

• She was buried after 2 July 2010 in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, PA.
