"Julian Eugene Fast, born April 6, 1856, in Troy Township near Nova, Ashland County, Ohio. For many years he was a teacher, being superintendent of schools at Holgate for a time. On August 19, 1875, he was married at Napoleon, Ohio, to Lydia Hall, daughter of Andrew and Mary Hall. On March 20, 1888, he moved with his family to Delphos, Ohio, where for five years he was the agent for the Clover Leaf Railroad, after which he re-entered teaching, serving as Principal of the Jefferson and Franklin Schools for seventeen years. In 1910, he became associated with the Delphos Manufacturing Company with which he remained as assistant treasurer until his death which occurred on February 14, 1928. He was prominent in Masonic circles, being a member of the Blue Lodge, Chapter, Council, and the Eastern Star of Delphos. He was also a member of the Knights Templars of Van Wert, Ohio, and of the Scottish Rite Order of Toledo. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was an inspector in the Masonic Lodge, traveling in this work over the northern part of the state where he was widely and favorably known. Both his wife and he were members of the Presbyterian Church of Delphos. His wife survived him about a year and a half; her death occurred July 6, 1929." --Wirt Gerry Faust

The cause of her death was Chronic Nephritis.1
