BRODHEAD - Ben W. Carey, 57, of Avon died while working on his farm Tuesday.

He was born on April 1, 1914 in Rockford the son of Bernard and Ann Weber Carey. He married Mille Patkus on Oct. 16, 1943 in Rockford.

Carey was a farmer and a machinist for Kampar Screw Maufacturing Co., Rockford.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Brian, at home; and a brother, Kenneth, Rockford.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Wilfred Shea officiating. Burial will be in the Rockton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Everson Funeral Home where a scripture prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday.
