NOTE - Can the ages of the children be true??? Does this mean that both John Holland and Celia Arnsparger were able to bear children at the age of 60 and more??? Or should some of these been marked as "grandchildren"?

The 1880 census shows children ranging from age 3 to 36 all listed as sons and daughters of the 69 year old John and 63 year old Celia. Based on some of the young ages, I doubt if this was true.

Realistically, there were 3 of their sons listed on the 1880 census, John, George, and Charles. I suspect the remaining 4 children were actually their grandchildren. But who were the parents of these grandchildren? The relationship on this 1880 census form probably should have stated "Grandson" or "Granddaughter" for these last 4 children.

...Fannie Holland..Daughter..19..KY..At Home
...William Holland..Son..10..KY..At Home
...Ruby Holland..Son..6..KY..At Home
...Joseph Holland..Son..3..KY

There was a Fannie Holland who was listed on an 1870 census as the daughter of Elisha Holland who was born about 1838. It doesn't appear that Elisha was a son of John Holland but he might have been a brother or a nephew.

I can find no legitimate documents about William or Ruby which may tie them to John Holland.

There was a Joseph M. Holland who was born in 1877 and died in 1946 in Pleasureville, Henry County, Kentucky. His father was listed as John Holland and his mother was Sarah Cavendar. This John Holland could have been the son of John Holland, Sr. which means that Joseph would have been a grandson on this 1880 census.
