bullet  Marriage Notes:

Did George Stover have two wives? All other researchers list only one child of Magdaline Jones, Peter who was born in 1830. The 1860 census record and researcher Jeanette Marie Burr list additional children. There seems to be a large gap in the births of children between 1830-1842 which suggests that there may have been a second wife. Researcher Jeanette Marie Burr does not include the child Peter Stover but submits the names of the additional children as "John A." born in 1830, "Clarinda J." born in 1836," Mary C." born in 1838, "Henry Francis" born in 1842, and "Evaline Matilda" born in 1846. Her name of Clarinda appears on the 1860 census as "Clorinda" but the birth year on the census would be about 1847, not the 1836 that Jeanette Burr submits. In fact, the 13 year old Clorinda on the 1860 census would have a birth date almost the same as Evaline Matilda. It is my suspicion that "Clorinda" may have been a misreading of difficult handwriting or else could be a nickname for Evaline Matilda, especially concerning the fact that Evaline's gravestone specifically gives her birth year as 1846.
