Anna Mae Varno
PLATTSBURGH - Anna Mae "Mamie" Varno, 90, of Cornelia Street died on Tuesday at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 4, 1891 in West Chazy, the daughter of Joseph and Matilda (Bruso) Pombrio. Mrs. Varno was a member of St. Peter's Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Virgi1 (Hazel) Brunelle of West Chazy, Mrs. Ulric (Mildred) Carpentier of Plattsburgh, Mrs. Dwayne (Audrey) Traynor of West Chazy, Mrs. Richard (Ruby) Arbenger and Mrs. Arnold (Betty) Pavone of Plattsburgh; 19 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
