 Other names for Catherine were Kate Iceman and Catharine Jeleman.
General Notes:
Some researchers show her surname as "Iceman" but the index of the Marriage Records from Ashland County show her surname as "Jeleman". Examining the actual document, the handwriting is difficult to discern but the first letter certainly looks like the letter J especially when compared to other letters on the same page of the record book. In addition, there appears to be 3 other letters following the J and preceding the "man" part of the name. This means that there would be one too many letters if her name were actually Iceman instead of Jeleman.
On the other hand, the marriage license application for their son, Charles A. Swope, shows the name of his mother clearly as Katherine Iceman.
The death certificate for Catharine has her father's name indexed as "Deeman" but examining the actual document shows that it is clearly "Iceman".
