Leslie Joseph Lakey

   Cause of his death was Impaled by pitchfork (accidental).

  General Notes:

Leslie Lakey had a very serious mishap this week Wednesday while doing his chores. He went up in the hay loft to pitch down some hay for his stock and in coming down from the loft, he slipped in some manure and fell on the fork handle running it into his body about eight inches puncturing his intestines. Dr. Jegi of Galesville was called immediately and the injured man was rushed to the hospital at La Crosse where after a thorough examination grave doubts are entertained as to his recovery. Mr. Lakey is a young prosperous farmer living a couple of miles north of town on the main Trempealeau-Galesville highway.
