• His obituary was published in the Daily Inter Lake on 1 July 1952 in Kalispell, MT.

Phillip H. Hulit, 56, died at his home north of Columbia Falls early this morning.

Mr. Hulit had been a resident of the Columbia Falls community for the past seven years, coming there from south of Kalispell where he had made his home since 1928 before moving to Columbia Falls.

Surviving him are his widow at their home, and six children, Mrs. Ervin Boisen of Columbia Falls, Jack in the Army, James, Lee, Vera and Dixie at home; his mother Mrs. Betty Hulit, and one sister Mrs. Roy Hagen all of Columbia Falls.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Catron Funeral Home in Whitefish.

Rites Observed

Funeral services for Philip Harold Hulit were held Saturday afternoon at 2 from the Waggener and Campbell Chapel by the Rev. Frank B. Hillis.

During the service selected music was sung by Bill Carr, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. J. M. Carlson. Friends who acted as pallbearers were William A. Friedrich, Otto Roisen, Arthur Weaver, Everett Lewis, Albert Lewis and Henry Larkin. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.

Philip Harold Hulit was born Feb. 2, 1895, in Beaver County, Okla., the son of Charles and Elizabeth Hulit. While still a small boy he moved with his parents to Northern Alberta, Canada, where he grew to manhood. During World War I he served with the Lord Strathcona Horse Canadian Cavalry overseas, returning home at the end of the war.

He was united in marriage to Merle Darner of Sweet Grass, Mont., in 1924 and they moved to the Flathead Valley to make their home. He was well known in the valley as a packer and guide.

Mr. Hulit died July 1, 1952 at the age of 57 years.

Surviving him are his widow, Merle, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Irvin Boisen, Vera Hulit and Dixie Hulit; three sons, Cpl. Jack Hulit and James and Lee Hulit; his mother, Mrs. Roy Hankins; a son-in-law, Irvin Boisen and grandchildren, Carol and Rose.
