• Her obituary was published in October 2013. ² Noreen Orilla (O'Callaghan) Flint, 87, of Middletown, RI, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Newport Hospital.

Born in La Crosse, WI on June 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius O'Callaghan and Olive (Berry) O'Callaghan.

Noreen was a talented and loving person, kind, generous and wise. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She saw the best in people and wanted the best for them. She loved her family, friends, pets and the beauty of the outdoors. She was always willing to help in both her personal and professional life. Noreen had a fantastic quick wit that made people laugh and was an unbelievable cook. She loved poetry, sports, good food, classic movies, great books and an eclectic array of music.

After raising seven children, she began her Real Estate career in 1970. She founded the Country Mouse Real Estate Agency in 1973, and was named Realtor of the Year in Rhode Island in 1974. She served every office for the Newport County Board of Realtors and was on the Board of Directors. She also was a Newport County Board of Realtors Emeritus. Noreen began her appraising career in 1983 and was a Member of the Society of Residential Appraisers with a Senior Residential Appraiser (SRA) designation and completed her appraisal career in 2012.

She is survived by her husband Ralph Flint, of Middletown and her children Andrew Shrake and his wife Linda of East Dennis, MA, David Shrake and his wife Janet of Southington, CT, Bruce Shrake and his wife Janet of Ingleside IL, Laura Clark and her husband Thomas of Colchester, CT, Joan Binns and her husband Robert of Norton, VT, and Michael Shrake and his wife Jeanie of Gurnee, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sara Sargent and her husband Shane, Samuel Shrake, Zachary Shrake, Brian Shrake, Scott Shrake, Erin Clark, Colleen Clark, Katherine Binns, Shelby Shrake, Savanah Shrake, Summer Shrake and Sawyer Shrake, and her great-grandchildren, Ava and Daniel. She also leaves her stepchildren Susan Chase and her husband Brian of Hollis, ME, Lori Vano and her husband, Ken of Huntington, CT, and Michael Flint and his wife Pam of Middletown, RI, grandchildren Kevin and his wife Ally, Gregory, Ryan, Randy and David. She is also survived by her first husband, Captain F. B. Shrake of Portsmouth, RI.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Anne Montoya and her brother, Michael O'Callaghan, the former Governor of Nevada.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.

Noreen married Frances Bernard Shrake, son of Leon Wesley Shrake and Mary Elizabeth Quitney, on 20 December 1945 in Winona, MN.¹ The marriage ended in divorce. (Frances Bernard Shrake was born on 16 January 1926 in Wisconsin,^{1 3 4} died on 31 December 2014 in Danielson, Killingly, CT and was buried in May 2015 in Fort Myer, Arlington, VA.)
