1 Alice Ruth "Sug" Lightfoot, age 81, passed away on May 27, 2009, in Santa Clara, Utah. She was born March 4, 1928 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Herman Woodruff Greathouse and Cora Mabel Dolson. She married Herman Charles Lightfoot on November 21, 1956 in Walla Walla, Washington.

Alice was raised on a farm at Greathouse Springs, Arkansas. As a small child her family had a tomato cannery. Later she worked on the family farm and canning company. She loved going down to the creek to swim. In 1961, her family took a boat trip from the Blue Mountain Boat Club at Wallula, Washington, to the mouth of the Columbia River. In 1967, her husband bought an airplane and they enjoyed many trips together in it.

Alice worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Sherwood & Roberts. Later, she kept books for the family business, Lightfoot's, Inc. She enjoyed being active in her church and spent many years as the Achievement Days leader. She also loved visiting with friends and was well loved by all who knew her.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Charles, parents Herman & Cora Greathouse, brothers Billy and James, sisters Minnie, Hermione and Irene, and grandson Payton.

She is survived by her children: Terry (Rhonda) Guisinger of Salem, Oregon, Michael (Bunni) Guisinger of St. George, Utah, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the Rachel Ave. chapel in Santa Clara on Saturday, May 30 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. It will be followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla, WA. For information contact the Colonial DeWitt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Alice has requested that donations be made to the LDS Church's Perpetual Education Fund, or a charity of your choice.
