bullet  Marriage Notes:

As incredible as it sounds, Eli was only 14 years old and Lulu was only 8 years old at the time of their marriage in 1900. I don't know what purpose this served as they were remarried exactly 10 years later when their ages were in the more commonly acceptable range. In reality, I don't think that there actually was a marriage in 1900 because the 1900 US Census which was conducted about one month later, showed both children still living at home with their own parents and both were noted as single. Maybe it was some kind of betrothal or arrangement because they were married exactly 10 years later.
