Earl Abrecht, 8 Sunset Drive, Alexandria, Va., formerly of this city, died suddenly at the home of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Bowings, Adamstown, this morning at 4:40 o'clock, aged 62 years. Although he had been in ill health, his death was very unexpected. Born in this city, he was a son of the late George F. and Mary Elizabeth Esterly Abrecht. Mr. Abrecht was a well known automobile mechanic, having been employed by Lawrence Baker, this city for 14 years, more recently being employed by the U.S. Government as a mechanic. He retired September 30. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Ethel Bowings Abrecht, one step daughter, Mrs. Frank Savala, France; and the following brothers and sisters; Charles Abrecht, Lewis Abrecht, both of this city; Ernest Abrecht, Richmond, Va.; Miss Gertrude Abrecht, Miss Katie Abrecht and Mrs. J. Earl Gilbert, all of this city. Three step grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The body rests at the funeral home, 106 East Church street, where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Mount Olivet cemetery. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
