⁵ Miriam "Mimi" Elizabeth McLaughlin, 64, of 607 S. Johnson St., died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital following a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Johnson County, she was born March 23, 1923, at Hills and graduated from Mercy School of Nursing at Iowa City in 1945. Miss McLaughlin was a nurse for Dr. P. B. Moore for over 20 years and also for Veterans Administration Medical Center and Mercy Hospital, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her mother, Bessie McLaughlin, and a brother, Ted, both of Iowa City.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Friday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial: Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at Donahue-Lensing's, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Hospital Foundation.
