The 1870 US is a bit confusing for this couple. First, James Buchanan Weaver was listed as 2 separate persons, James and Buchanan, instead of just one person named James Buchanan Weaver.. Next, the ages of several of the children were wrong by several years. And finally, three of the children who are known to have survived well beyond 1870 are missing from the listing with the family. These include Leila Virginia Weaver, b. 1861 and would have been age 9, Francis O. Weaver, b. 1864 and would have been about age 5, and Andrew Jackson Weaver, b. 1866 and would have been about age 3.
