Warren Adams, age 78, of Trempealeau, died Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at Franciscan Skemp Health Care Center in La Crosse, Wis.

He was born May 13, 1920, to Earl and Minnie (Shanabrook) Adams in Trempealeau, Wis. On September 5, 1946 Warren married Merna Gibson in The Centerville Methodist Church.

Warren farmed most of his adult life, he was also employed by Brunkow Hardwoods as a bookkeeper from 1958 until his retirement in 1982. Warren was the Trempealeau Town Treasurer in 1951 and 1952 and the Trempealeau Town Clerk for 45 years until his death. He was a life member of the Trempealeau United Methodist Church, a choir member for over 60 years, and also held many offices in the church, a member of the Trempealeau Ecumenical Gospel Choir, the ecumenical choir and the Winona Area Barbershoppers.

Warren is survived by his wife; two sons, Earl (Lynn) Adams of Greenwood, Wis; Larry (Rhonda) Adams of La Crosse, Wis; two daughters, Diane (Dennis) Hubbard of Norwalk, Wis. and Donna (Jim) Newmann of Whitewater, Wis; nine grandchildren, Samuel Gerald Warren Adams, Sarah Adams, Eric Adams, Jared Adams, David Hubbard, Dawn Powell, Daniel Warren Hubbard, Cory James Newmann and Shanna Brooke Newmann; one brother Gerald Adams of Trempealeau; and one sister Mildred Kelly of La Crosse, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and a brother Robert.

Funeral services were Saturday, December 12, 1998 at Trempealeau United Methodist Church. Rev. Betsy Miller-Ruben officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Centerville. Memorials may be directed to the Trempealeau United Methodist Church. Zwickey Funeral Homes assisted the family.
