  General Notes:

Correct wives with correct connnections..clearing up the mix ups!

much confusion with Samuel Allen Sr & especially his wives which made for a time consuming fix..however..he has 2 wives. His 1st wife Ann(unknown surname), she had 5 children only with him: Deacon Samuel Allen, Mary, James, Sarah, who married Josias Standish (which btw once correcting all the other mix ups reconnected her to her correct parents again), and Abigail, their last child. Then about 1650 he marries again to the widow Margaret Lamb (widow to Edward Lamb..she had many children with him.. but Margaret and Samuel Allen Sr had one known child, Joseph Allen. Samuel Allen Sr had no other proved wives. He was not married to Margaret French, daughter of Thomas French & Susan Riddlesdale as she died about age 13 to 15..birth and death proven by Assington Parish, Suffolk, England records (page 100) for the death recording...see in her sources she is attched to her correct parents. Some really old info may have caused the confusion. The NEHG's "The Register" Spring 2021, Vol 175, No 2, pages 104-119, "three French Daughters" on page 119 by Melinda Byrne & John Hardy does state birth and burial/death dates. Fascinating article with accurate current research.

His will was dated 2 Aug 1669 and proved 16 Sep 1669.

Samuel married Anne in 1630 in Wollaston, Quincy, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. (Anne was born about 1610 and died on 29 September 1641 in Braintree, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.)
