bullet  General Notes:

The correct spelling of his first name is a subject for a little debate. Lacking any official birth certificate for a person in those early years, the manner of spelling was usually left up to whomever was in any capacity, whether official or not, to read and write and thus, record the name. Usually these included church records, family Bibles, tax records, marriage applications, and census records. In this particular case, the 1850 census enumerator recorded his name as "Zachoriah", but the most common spelling of the name appear as "Zachariah". The specific book of the Bible is spelled "Zechariah". So with at least 3 variations and no other documents to search, it is hard to tell exactly which spelling he generally used.
