  General Notes:

Irene was born in 1897 at Bloomington, Illinois, then adopted at or before 1900 by William David Lower & Jennie Ann Wright. Edna Belle was two months shy of age 16 when Irene was born. Irene's father was age 29 at her birth. The father abandoned mother and child and there was a divorce.

Edna Belle then married a Henry (Heinrich) Buckholtz/Buckles in late 1900, at Bloomington. Meanwhile, however, Irene had already been adopted out. It is unclear why she wasn't kept within the extended family, instead of being adopted by a couple whose relationship to Edna Belle's family is, so far, unknown.
